Khetwadi Cha Mahaganpati,8th Lane
Nilesh Shridhankar, secretary of the 8th lane at khetwadi said, “This is the 59th year of our mandal. With an aim to make the festival celebration bigger and with a theme of women empowerment, we decided to install an idol of Vinayaki Devi."
The residents of the eighth lane of Khetwadi welcomed their 35-feet Ganesh idol on Monday. What's unique about this idol is that the Ganesha idol is wearing a ‘Nauvari saree’ with green bangles, gajar, traditional ornaments, and has a Trishul in hand.
Rajesh Poojari, archaeologist and an art conservator, said, “The Vinayaki goddess is known by names including Vigneshvari, Stri Ganesh, Ganeshani among others. Many people believe she is Lord Ganesha's feminine or Shakti form.”

Khetwadi Cha Ganraj 12th Lane
Located in the heart of Girgaon, Khetwadi Cha Ganraj from the 12th Lane is one of Mumbai’s most admired and iconic Ganesh idols. Established in 1959, the 12th Khetwadi S.G.M. Mandal has become known for its majestic idols, which have reached heights of 28 to 40 feet, each year showcasing a unique and artistic avatar of Lord Ganesha.
The most remarkable of them all was the 40-foot Parshuram Avtar in the year 2000, which drew massive crowds and left a lasting impression. Known for its stunning decoration and spiritual atmosphere, this pandal continues to be a must-visit during Ganesh Chaturthi.
